Ellen Kliman has a B.Mus. from Oberlin Conservatory and an M.Mus. from the University of Maryland. She performs early music, cabaret, opera, operetta, musical theatre and chamber music throughout the Washington area, and can be heard weekly as a section leader and soloist at both All Soul's Episcopal Church in Woodley Park and St. Matthew's Cathedral. Her first love is education - she has spent more than 20 years running a private music studio, where she teaches voice, piano, music appreciation classes and sightreading. Mari Carlson returns to Rockville, her hometown, after 20+ years teaching and performing in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  She’s played violin since age three, never intending to make it a career.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from St Olaf College in religion and a master’s from St Paul’s Seminary in Pastoral Studies.  But music remains her passion and livelihood.  Along with private teaching, she enjoys playing in bluegrass and folk groups as well as classical chamber settings.  Lately, she accompanies her voice with violin chords.  Mari looks forward to sharing music with young families to establish a foundation for lifelong musicality.
